Payment Date | Subscription Plan |
---|---|
March 1st | $10 plan |
March 15th | Upgraded to $30 plan |
If you upgrade on March 15th,
You will be charged $20 (the difference) immediately.
The unused amount ($5 remaining from your previous subscription) will extend your next billing date.
In this case, as you upgrade on March 15th, you next payment supposed to start at April 15. But it will now move to April 20, giving you an extra 5 days.
<aside> 💡
Why does the remaining $5 extend my billing date by exactly 5 days?
Your new plan ($30/month) costs $1 per day ($30 ÷ 30 days = $1/day).
When you upgraded on March 15, you had $5 worth of unused service from your previous $10 plan.
This $5 is converted into extra days at your new plan’s daily rate ($1/day), giving you exactly 5 additional days.
That's why your next billing date moves from April 15 to April 20, extending your billing period by 5 days.
